Megan Henwood

I strongly believe in the profound effect songwriting can have upon our mental health and I wanted to share my passion for the process.

Songwriter

Megan is an award winning singer-songwriter with over 20 years industry experience. She has worked with the BBC, The Art Fund, The Shakespeare Trust, Bristol Old Vic, Young Women’s Music Project, toured the UK and Europe and been commissioned to write for many projects and artists, including her work in Nashville with Palmer Global Ink.

Producer

As well as working with some of the industry’s top producers, Megan has self produced her own material which has been played on BBC Radio 2 and BBC 6 Music. As a songwriter, acquiring production skills was pivotal in her career, allowing her to expand her horizons as a musician. During sessions she shares the basics of recording and how production can take your work to new places.

Facilitator

Sylva Songs was built on the passion for sharing the empowerment and confidence that can be gained through lyric writing. Megan has worked with young people through Acorn Music Theatre Company and has run songwriting courses and facilitated discovery sessions with Young Women’s Music Project. Her enthusiasm is infectious and inspires those she works with to go forward and write more.
